Fraser Anti-Static Techniques worked alongside leading global bedding brand, Snuggledown to tackle static control issues in its UK-based factory.
Snuggledown is a UK bedding and sleep product company that has handmade its products at its Lancashire home for over 25 years.
The Problem
Issues caused by static charge were impacting on Snuggledown’s production efficiency. The luxury bedding it creates is in high demand and the factory must operate seamlessly to fulfil the high levels of orders it receives. Static charge on the products during the production process was causing processing difficulties, ultimately resulting in increased product re-work and line downtime.
Previous attempts to combat static control issues did not work and in some cases affected the quality of the product. The Fraser team stepped in to provide a solution which didn’t compromise quality.
The Solution
Fraser’s team visited the production facilities to analyse the problems, and provide the best solution available. The X-12L bar from the latest X-SERIES range of static eliminators was recommended.
Once in place, the bar removed the static electricity during the processes affected, which allowed Snuggledown to process fibres that previously proved difficult, significantly reducing downtime and waste and ultimately increasing profit.
