Industry: Life Sciences

In the manufacture of medical-liquid test strips, such as those used in haematology, chemically pre-treated card-like sheets are slit into slim strips of liquid testing tabs.  Following conversion, the strips are decanted into their final packaging containers – usually tubes.

To squeeze the spread of strips into a narrow-necked vessel, the strips are delivered down a funnelling device.  It is in the funnels where statically-charged lightweight strips can stick to each other and to the walls of the funnel.

By providing ionisation at the end of the delivery line from a short-range 3024 Compact, 3024 Ultra-Compact or a 1265 Single Point Ioniser, the test strips are neutralised and will fall easily into the container without sticking to each other or the walls of the funnel.
