Digital Print Defects and Contamination Control
Digital printing is susceptible to static charge in many ways, both in graphic colour work and document printing. In graphical digital printing, the most common static problems are dust contamination and print quality.
Digital Print Defects and Contamination Control - Select a problem:
Removal of the protective film from a plastic sheet can generate a charge in excess of 50,000 V (50 kV). This can attract airborne dust from more than 1 metre away. The resulting contamination of the product can be very expensive.
The most versatile and economic solution is the 4125 Ionised Air Gun. This blow-off gun is not only an effective tool for dust removal but also neutralises the charge, preventing re-attraction of contaminants.
Different machines require different solutions.
Fraser supplies printer OEMs with print-head anti-static bars, gantry mounted static eliminators or overhead long range anti-static bars according to the printer design.
